Stay comfortable with South African Merino

Designed to protect you across all environments, merino wool offers year-round protection, comfort and performance.

A Naturally Technical Fibre

Merino wool performs with you

Merino wool helps to regulate body temperature and keep you dry as the fibre naturally absorbs and releases moisture, which means less sweat on your body and on your clothes.

It resists the build-up of odour molecules allowing you to wear merino garments more and wash them less.

Keep your endurance through comfort

When you run, bike or paddle you need to stay focussed on many things in order to reach your goal. Getting distracted because you are too hot, too cold or too wet is not helpful and impacts your endurance and your performance.

Merino fibres react and adapt to your body keeping you cool when the weather is hot, and keeping you warm when the weather is cold.

It provides excellent levels of UV protection making it an optimal choice when worn outdoors.

A Natural Choice

Good for you and for the planet.

Best of all merino wool is a completely natural fibre that is both biodegradable and renewable, so it as gentle on the environment as it is on you.

And of course there is more to explore.
Other noteworthy merino wool features are:

Wool is a Natural Fibre

Grown year-round by South Africa’s 15 million merino sheep, wool is 100% natural, and sheep grow wool by consuming a simple blend of water, air, sunshine and grass.

Wool readily biodegrades

When a wool fibre is disposed of, it will naturally decompose in soil in a matter of months, slowly releasing valuable nutrients back into the earth.

Renewed annually

Every year South African sheep produce a new fleece, making wool a completely renewable fibre.

No Smell

In contrast to synthetics, Merino wool can absorb moisture vapour which means less sweat on your body. Merino wool even absorbs the odour molecules from sweat, which are then only released upon washing.

Feels good on your skin

Merino wool fibres are extremely fine, enabling them to bend far more than traditional, coarser wool fibres. This makes Merino wool feel soft and luxuriously gentle next to your skin.

Moves with you

Natural elasticity helps Merino wool garments stretch with you, yet return to their original shape. So Merino wool clothing is ideal to wear when exercising.

Stay comfortable

Merino wool fibres can absorb large quantities of moisture vapour then move it away to evaporate into the air. So Merino wool clothing is extremely breathable and less prone to clamminess.

Reacts to your body temperature

In contrast to synthetics, Merino wool is an active fibre that reacts to changes in body temperature. So it helps you stay warm when the weather is cold, and cool when the weather is hot.

No electrical shocks

Because Merino wool can absorb moisture vapour, it tends not to create static electricity, helping it to drape beautifully and be less likely to cling uncomfortably to your body than other fabrics.

Stay protected from the sun

Merino wool clothing provides good protection from the sun, compared with the protection from other fibres. As a natural fibre, evolved over millions of years to protect sheep against the elements, Merino wool absorbs UV radiation providing protection from the sun. This makes it a good choice for a wide range of outdoor activities.
